Martha Phillipina Scheske (Phyllis) was born June 18, 1926 in St. Boswells, SK. She was the first-born child of Katharina and Gotlieb Scheske. The family later moved to Grenfell, SK where she was raised. At the age of 19 she was married to Arthur Edwin Lowenberg and they continued to live in the Grenfell area where they reared five children: Cheryl, Larry, Darlene, Deborah, and John. Those children gave birth to 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Raequel, Jason, Tina, Katherine, Samantha, Jennifer, and Ember. And they produced 16 great-grandchildren: Daisy, Lucas, Garreth, Grace, Eddy, Layne, Samantha, Ryan, Seth, Elizabeth, Hadley, Charlize, Kaylin, Robin, Nicolas, and Allyssa. And 1 great-great-grandchild, Evelynn. Also surviving her are her siblings, Lenore, Donald and Dianne. She was predeceased by her husband, twin brothers, and her first-born son.
The Lowenberg family lived in Grenfell, Moose Jaw, La Ronge, SK, and finally Oliver, BC where they retired. Art and Phyllis spent their days travelling western Canada and parts of the USA. While Art fished, Phyllis painted.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Oliver Cemetery where Phyllis will be laid to rest beside her husband. More information will be available when the time and date are confirmed.
