Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Marsha Ann Quigley, 69 years of age, on Friday December 31, 2021 at her Chartwell LTC residence in Aurora. Marsha was born on August 24, 1952 in Etobicoke Ontario to Ernest and Joan McDougall. She was the eldest of 7 children. Her adored siblings include Ricky, Gail, Michele, Todd, Dale and Lila. Marsha married Ray Quigley and had two sons, Jason and Tyler.
Marsha always loved helping others and opened her heart and her home to many over the years. Throughout her lifetime, Marsha’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and many extended family members and friends. Growing up in the Eringate neighbourhood of Etobicoke with the McDonald side of the family just down the street, the McDougall siblings created a special bond with cousins who became cherished life-long friends. Marsha was always a quick wit and would naturally spread happiness and laughter to all those around her with her infectious sense of humour. She was an unconditionally loving and caring, true “people person”, devoted wife, proud mother and grandmother, loving daughter, sister and aunt. Despite suffering several health challenges throughout her years, Marsha took life’s setbacks in stride and remained perpetually optimistic and naturally trended towards seeing only the bright side of life. Marsha would always think of others first and it brought her immense joy to engage in endless acts of kindness if it meant she could brighten other’s days. This beautiful personality trait will live on in her grandchildren as she always reminded them of the importance “to pay it forward” whenever possible.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory – her mother Joan McDougall, son Tyler (Laura), grandchildren Morgan and Dane, Cooper and Jordan, her sisters Michele (Bruno) and Lila (Terry) and her brothers Todd, Ricky and Dale along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marsha was predeceased by her father Ernest, her sister Gail, her husband Ray and her eldest son Jason.
Heartfelt gratitude goes out to the endlessly caring staff members at Chartwell LTC in Aurora, whom Marsha consistently praised, that helped to provide her with such wonderful personalized care and compassion throughout the last 3 and a half years.
Marsha and her beautiful loving spirit will live in our hearts forever. P.S. We love you. We will notify family and friends of a future date to gather together for a celebration of Marsha’s remarkable life.
