Obituary of Marlyn Starkey
Starkey, Marlyn peacefully at her residence in Waterloo on Saturday, October 22, 2022. “Marlyn was promoted to her heavenly home,” in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John Starkey(2004). Dear mother of Stan Starkey(Lori) of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Jon Starkey, Jenn Meesters(Ryan), Michael Starkey, James Starkey(Michelle) and great-grandmother of Faith, Livey, Joshua, Micah, Tyler, Ava, Juliette, Colton and Caleb. She is survived by sisters Audrey, Arlene, Frances, Sharon, Lynn and a number of nieces and nephews. Marlyn was lovingly cared for by the late Pat and Stella (Paget) Parsons from the age of five at the Parsons farm in Springfield. She was born in New Sarum, Ontario on December 8, 1938, daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Paget) Norton. Through the years she was very active at church with community outreach and Sunday school. Marlyn was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church, St. Thomas and Verity Community Church. “Marlyn’s greatest joy came from meeting people. She showed great interest in their personal history and had shown great concern for their well being. ” A celebration of Marlyn’s life will be held at Verity Community Church, 289 Lincoln Rd, Waterloo N2J 2P6 on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
