MacKENZIE, Marlene (née Lowry) – Peacefully at the Louise Marshall Hospital on Monday, January 24, 2022 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Elmer MacKenzie (2003). Loving mother of Blair (Susan) MacKenzie, Brent MacKenzie, and Craig MacKenzie (Carrie Deverell). Cherished grandmother of Ian, Kate, Sabine and Alexander. Dear sister of Lynn Lowry (Donna Mueller), David (Shirley) Lowry, Wayne (Patt) Lowry, Carl Lowry, Elliott (Ellen) Lowry, Corinne (Gene) Mordaunt and sister-in-law of Murray Thompson. Marlene is lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her siblings: Perrin (Marion) Lowry and Janette Thompson, sister-in-law Gayle Lowry, as well as her brothers- and sisters-in-law and their spouses in the MacKenzie Family.
Marlene moved to Mount Forest after she and Elmer were the lighthouse keepers in Point Clark. She lived the majority of her life in Mount Forest, where she felt most at home, often with a good book or listening to music. Marlene taught in Mount Forest and worked at the Post Office for many years.
Cremation has taken place. Spring interment will take place in the Mount Forest Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marlene are asked to consider the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.
