Mark Douglas Jayne Thursday May 26th 2022

Mark Douglas Jayne – age 51, of South End, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2022 one day after the 10 year anniversary of his late mother June (Burrill) Jayne. Mark was an extremely hard worker, a trait he inherited from his father, Donald Jayne and mother and instilled in his children. He started working at Dayton Red and White at the age of 14 for his uncle Kenny Burrill and bought the business in 2007. Under his ownership, the Dayton Red and White flourished and became a community fixture. In his spare time, he loved to deer and rabbit hunt and was passionate about raising rabbit hounds, a trait he acquired from his late grandfather, Kenneth Burrill. He had a love of baseball and was a talented pitcher who could have made it pro. He later would share those talents with the Quinan baseball team and other teams that he sponsored and helped coach. Mark was also a huge Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan. He cherished his dream car, a Camaro ZL1 585 Supercharged which he recently upgraded to 700 HP. Mark was also known to be a bit of an ambulance and fire truck chaser, he just had to know what was going on! He was known to be a fun-loving sociable guy who people liked to be around, but above all else, Mark loved his family who meant the world to him. Part of his family were his dogs, 13-year-old “Chocolate”, “Diesel” and “Sky” who were like children to him. Although Mark was a proud south ender, he considered Quinan his home and April’s family his own.
Mark is survived by the love of his life; April Jayne (Muise), children; Sarah Jayne, Lucus Jayne, Michael Jayne, Justin Leblanc and Alex Jacquard, father; Donald Jayne, grandson; Jackson Jayne, uncle; Kenny Burrill, brother-in-law; Dwayne (Bobbi) Muise, sister-in-law; Mae (Stephen) Jeddry, who introduced April and Mark; mother-in-law, Cindy Rose; special nephew; Jordan Muise, special friends; Gilbert Rose Jr, Jimmy Jackson and Bernie Vacon; Bubba “Wayne” Ritchie; Mitchell Muise; John Vacon; his butler; Jason Muise and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; and a special mention of his cousins Terry and Tracy d’Eon. Mark was predeceased by his mother, June Jayne; brother, Randy Burrill; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Burrill; and paternal grandparents, Helen and Donald Jayne as well as Winnifred Jayne.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
