Marjorie Jean Fenton Moore Manthorne 19242022

Marjorie Jean (Fenton) (Moore) Manthorne
1924-2022
Marjorie Jean
Manthorne, age 97 years, passed away Thursday, March 3,2022 in the
Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by her daughters and
granddaughter.
Mom was born in
Halifax on October 24, 1924, the fifth of eight children of the late
Walter and Marjorie (Hills) Fenton. Mom was a proud “North
Ender”, growing up in the Hydrostones and attending Richmond
School.
Mom was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She
was active in all aspects of her church and church family and was a
Dominion Life Member of the WMS. She had a strong and abiding faith
and is now home with her Lord who she trusted and
loved.
Mom loved knitting,
jigsaw puzzles, the weekly Lexicon, and she was the Queen of Scrabble.
But the most important activities were the family gatherings. Whether
celebrating birthdays, special holidays, graduations or family
visiting from Manitoba and Saskatchewan, she loved to be surrounded by
her family.
She is survived by
daughters, Janet Moore, Kentville; Jean (Ted) Teal, New Minas; Joyce
(Tom) Cann, Hantsport; and son Paul (Jacqui) Moore, Griffin,
Saskatchewan.
Her pride and source
of so much love were her eight grandchildren, Kevin (Cindy); Kim
(Joel); Keri; Jenna (Rick); Jonathan (Tera); Steve (Anna); Andy
(Chantelle); Andrea (Dean); and her 15 beautiful great grandchildren,
Brandon (Brianna); Colin; Evan; Kaitlyn; Courtney; Tyler; Keegan;
Lindsay; MacKenzie; Carter; Liberty; Keelie; Matthew; Kurt and
Serj.
Mom was predeceased by
her first husband, Douglas Moore (1963) and her second husband, Herman
Manthorne (1989); her son, Robert Stanley Moore (1964); sisters,
Marion Crocker and Hazel Lienaux; brothers, John Fenton; Walter
Fenton; Robert (Barney) Fenton; Edward Fenton and Murray
Fenton.
Cremation has taken
place and there will be no visitation, by request. A funeral service,
followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March
25, 2022 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary
