Obituary of Marion Theresa McKinley
Marion Theresa McKinley, age 92, passed away August 5, 2022 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Advocate Harbour on January 9th, 1930, she was the youngest daughter of the late John and Connie (Elliott) Sheffield.
Survived by daughters Karen (David) Leslie, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Susan (Ian) MacGillivary, Oromocto, New Brunswick; beloved grandchildren Rebecca (Sean), Andrew (Michelle), Scott and Joe; cherished great grandchildren Elizabeth, Ewan, Jude and Max; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceased by husband of 61 years Gerald (died 2014), brothers Ralph (in infancy), Merrill, Scott, and sisters Kate, Gerry and Doris.
Mary was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College and taught in several communities, including Spencer’s Island and Port Williams.
We are very grateful for the care and compassion shown to our mother by the staff of the Wolfville Nursing Home over the last several years.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. The cremains of Mary and Gerald will be interred in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
