Obituary of Marion Louise Rose
ROSE: Marion Louise (nee Chapple) – It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Louise Rose announce her passing on Friday, August 26 , 2022. Marion was the cherished wife of Douglas Rose (July 9, 2022) for 70 years.
She is survived by her children, Lauree (Doug) Vallery, Leanne (Andrew) Mackenzie and David (Peggy) Rose, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Marion was born in Chatham, and lived most of her life in Dover Township, near Electric, until she and Doug retired to Chatham in 2001. For many years she was a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society.
Marion is predeceased by her father, Elmer Chapple, mother Lois (Bowen), infant brother Guy and a special aunt and uncle, Ruth (Chapple) and Robert Montgomery.
Thank you to the staff of Chatham Retirement Resort who have provided unlimited love and care for Dad and Mom over the last three years and the staff of Chatham Kent Hospice who did so much for Mom in her final days. Thanks also to Reverend Linda McFadden of Dresden Community Church for being a trusted friend and spiritual guide.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service for Marion and Douglas Rose will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Reception will follow at the McKinlay Reception Centre. All are welcome.
Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation in memory of Mom would be appreciated by the family.
