The world lost a fierce woman. Marion Grace Armstrong passed peacefully in her sleep at Falconbridge Extendicare on Monday, January 3rd, 2022. She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Irene Warford and the love of her life, James Vernon Armstrong. She left behind a family that will forever be indelibly shaped by all that she was, her daughters, Karen Armstrong and Lynne Desbiens (Ed), her granddaughters Pamela Tonkin (Steve) and Paula Armstrong, and her great grandchildren, James and Holly Tonkin. Our loss is immeasurable. Marion was an awe-inspiring, fear-inducing force of nature packaged in an itty-bitty woman. There was nothing she couldn’t do. She was right beside her husband as they built the home we were all raised in. We were all blessed by incredibly original wardrobes as she was a master at knitting, crocheting and sewing, and she was a pretty fair cook (although she never mastered a soft cookie or decent gravy!). These were lessons she passed down to every woman she raised and we are all richer for it. There is a giant hole in our hearts for her loss but a joy that is growing for having been given the privilege of being her family. Heaven should brace itself. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Falconbridge Extendicare for every kindness, for there were many and for sharing with us the absolute fondness they had for her and how they say they will miss her. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the SPCA would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
