The Book Life
Life is a book in volumes three,
The past, the present, the yet to be.
The 1st is finished and laid away.
The 2nd we’re living day by day.
The 3rd is the last of the volumes three,
It’s locked from sight , god holds the key.
God unlocked the 3rd volume of our mothers book of life on Sunday April 17th . She passed peacefully surrounded by her 5 loving children.
Our mom is survived by Rowena (Harold) Morash, Brian (Sharon) Hewlett, Gail (Wayne) Butler, Dawn Hewlett, and Craig (Linda) Hewlett; Grandchildren Michelle (Dave) King, Mark Miller (Suzanne), Krista (Steve) Hope, Kayla (Travis) Legge, David Pierce, Aaron Butler, Saul (Mary Jane) Butler, Meaghan Noel (Ryan), Cody Hewlett (Arek), Chelsea Hewlett (Adam), Colin Hewlett . Great grandchildren Kennedy and Jake Griffin, Hailey Lee Miller, Jackson and Kylie Hope, Brody and Landon Legge, Ceilidh Pierce, Kaitlin Cull, Aidan Pierce, Eleanor and Hannah Butler, Emmet and Ray Doucet; special niece Phyllis Spence and numerous other nieces and nephews, as well as her very special friends, Rhoda Butt and Terry Flynn .
Mom was predeceased by her husband Max Watkins parents Gideon and Rowena Blackwood, sisters Valletta, Kit, Ida, Elsie, and Daisy; brothers Art, Jordan, And Henry; Son in law Derek Normore.
Our mother was a woman of many talents, she could cook you an exceptional meal , or make you a mouth watering dessert . If she gifted you one of her quilts, one her many beautiful knitted sweaters, a doily centerpiece, or one of the beautiful tablecloths she crocheted, you felt so very proud to have it.
We would like to thank Mary Sheppard for the wonderful care she provided during moms last days at home . We would also like to express a heart felt thank you to Dr. O’ Driscoll, Dr. White and all of the staff of the palliative care unit for their kindness and care in moms final days.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 at Country Haven Funeral Home from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 at 12 noon, at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Townsite, Montgomery street, Corner Brook, NL. It is requested that masks be worn at all services.
