Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 after a lifelong battle with heart disease. Daughter of the late Jack and the late Fanny Kolodny. Beloved wife of Michael. Treasured mother and mother-in-law of Sandy Duncan and Eric Govers, Gayle Duncan, David Stern and Marie-France Nicolas, Richard Duncan, Chris Stern and Kathy Boucher, Jennifer Stern and Martin Beverwijk. Devoted Bubby of Kristin and Marc, Darrin and Ola, Dylan, Nicky; Kobe, Benjamin; Sarah and Christian, the late Nicolas, Victoria and Benjamin, Emma and Akira; Skylar, Jasmine; Lorie Ann, Evelyn; and James. Very proud great-grandmother of Arielle, Patrick, Luke, and Maya. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Harvey and Joyce Kolodny, Caroline and Ernest Burman, Dina and Mendy Shalit, Kayla Kolodny; and sister-in-law of Olaf and the late Katherine Skorzewski. She will be forever missed by her nieces, nephews, family and many dear friends. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude the many medical professionals who took care of Marilyn over many years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Beit Abraham Family Estates Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at Sandy and Eric’s home Sunday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, (514) 934-4846.
