Marilyn Ruth Lang, of Markham, passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Health, comforted by her son and daughter-in-law, from complications following a stroke on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, at the age of 66.
Beloved mother of Mitchell Lang and loving mother-in-law of Susanna Kortelainen. She will also be remembered by her step father Keith Mayhew, step brother Scott Mayhew and step niece and nephew Kayla and Brydon. She was adored by, and will be fondly remembered by her many loving lifelong friends. Always an animal lover, she leaves behind her beloved dog Mya, who is now in the care of Mitchell and Susanna.
Predeceased by her brother Danny Lang and mother Ruth Mayhew.
Marilyn was a strong, independent spirit who enjoyed needlework, and gardening on a beautiful summer day. Marilyn loved her friends who provided her comfort and strength and served as a light in her life. Her primary love was for her precious animals. These include her dogs, Maggie, Milly and Mya and her cats Misha, Muffin and Max as well as many more she cared for over the years, even those belonging to friends and neighbours.
Her family would like to thank the team at the Mackenzie Health Intensive Care Unit for the excellent care she received, and for the support and compassion given to her family during their difficult time.
Relatives and friends of the Lang family will be received at Marshall Funeral Home in Richmond Hill on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 at 1pm. The memorial service will begin at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to your local pet shelter, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Mackenzie Health Foundation would be appreciated.
