BAKER, Marilyn Marie (nee Sapio) It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marilyn on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 in her 81st year. Predeceased by husband Ronald George Baker (2004), parents Dominic and Myrtle Sapio, and siblings Aileen O’Neil (late Sam), Jean Rosenplot, Cliff Westlake, Hazel Coulter (late Al), Madeline Fairman (late Ray), Rose Keech (late Norm), and Etta Priest (late Richard).
Marilyn was a cherished angel to many. She is survived by her beloved sons, Jeff (Deb North) and Chris (Kate). A very special and most stylish “Granny” to her granddaughters Hannah Baker (Blake) and Harleigh Tedford (Matt). We were all thrilled Marilyn was able to meet her great grandson Jack Elliot Tedford. Although in the later stages of Alzheimer Disease, Marilyn was still able to communicate her love for the newest addition to her family when they met.
Survived by her loving cherished sisters Linda Baker (Dale) and Judy Crawford (Ted). Also survived by her much loved and supportive Baker family and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many friends and co-workers from Bata Shoe.
Marilyn accepted her diagnosis with grace and humility. Her sweet and loving personality always shone through as did her unwavering independence. Her strength will forever be admired. A special thank you to Providence Care and the team at the John M. Parrott Centre. Your care throughout her journey was most appreciated. The family will receive friends at the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME 60 Division St., Trenton (613-392-2111) on Friday, May 6th, 2022 from 1:00 – 2:00p.m. A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will follow in the chapel at 2:00p.m. Out of respect for the family during COVID, please wear a mask if possible.
