On Friday, April 22, 2022 Marilyn Doreen Sutton passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
Marilyn had many careers over the years, her first being a mom to 5 children. With Stuart being an active member of the Canadian Military it often took him away from home. Marilyn was tasked parenting on her own. This was no small feat. Once their children got older Marilyn worked for the Military in an administrative role.
Upon Stuart’s retirement from the Military, Marilyn and Stuart moved to West Kelowna, British Columbia where Marilyn worked for the RCMP in an administrative role.
In 2012, Marilyn suffered a stroke which impacted her lifestyle significantly. Marilyn became a resident of the Lakeview Lodge in West Kelowna.
In April 2018 Marilyn and Stuart moved to St. Albert, Alberta to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn’s residence became the Youville Covenant Care Home in St Albert.
Marilyn loved spending time with the love of her life Stuart, her children, her grandchildren but especially her great grandchildren. The little ones always brought a light to Marilyn’s eyes and a smile to her face.
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children: Paul (Dena) Sutton, Kim Sutton, Scott (Mari) Sutton, Darci (Ed) Schlemko, Charlene (Kim) Halter; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; her sister Lorraine; one nephew and one niece.
Marilyn is predeceased by her husband of 67 years Charles “Stuart” Sutton; father Clarence Campbell and her mother Laura Campbell.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Youville Covenant Care Home in St. Albert for their support and care that they provided mom during her extended stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
