Marilyn’s Obituary
GREENE (Doering), Marilyn Audrey ~ Age 76, of South Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Bridgewater, Lunenburg, she was the daughter of the late George Maxwell and Audrey Marie (Burns) Doering (of Bridgewater). After school she trained as a CNALPN and worked in the hospital until illness forced her early retirement. If her strength was weakened, her spirit and faith was strong, and she made a loving and orderly home. She was devoted to her family, and her pets, which included the birds and animals which came to the feeder in the yard. Her faith was strong and her convictions even stronger. Marilyn believed that anything worth doing was worth doing right. Marilyn is survived by husband, of 55 years, Richard; daughter, Lacie Greene; grandchildren, Megan Fancy (Dalton) and Jonathon Greene (Melissa); great grandchildren, Kaleb Howard and Jevan Hubley; Carter Mailman and Jace Greene; sisters, Linda Anderson (Richard) and Barbara Selig, all in the Bridgewater area. Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, George Doering and an infant child. As per Marilyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Berwick Cemetery, with Rev. Mel Malton officiating. Donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Kings Co. S.P.C.A., Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia, or a charity of your choice. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the nurses and staff of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Marilyn and the family while she was under their care.
