With sad and peaceful hearts we announce the passing of Marie (née Voisey) Hawco, on May 11,2022. Marie passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, after some health struggles in recent months.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Joe. Her family takes comfort in thinking of them finally dancing together again. Marie leaves to mourn her seven children, Wayne (Cindy), Joe, Bill, Valerie (Mark), Brian (Karen), Joanne, and, Doug (Chelista). She was a loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren and shared a special friendship with her granddaughter, Kimberly Ann. She was also a great-grandmother and was fondly known by some as “Nanny G”. Her loving brothers Bob (Jean), Gerry (Brenda) Voisey and sister Gert Skinner are left to mourn as well.
Marie also lived her life as a caring friend, and was known to share her fond memories of her work at Woolworths and of times roller skating at Memorial Stadium. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her witty sense of humour, and her love of dancing.
Her family is thankful for the kindness that was shown to her in her final hours by the nursing staff at the Health Sciences, and for the love that was shown to her in her final years by the staff of MJ Personal Care Home.
