Obituary
Marie Cousins passed away peacefully at the age of 80 in Penticton, BC, on July 31st. She grew up in Hudson, Quebec, and moved west to B.C. in 1971. Marie trained as a Registered Nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec and worked there at a hospital clinic for a short time. She touched many lives over the years as an ICU and emergency room nurse/manager in Kelowna, Prince George, Vancouver and Terrace, B.C., and was deeply involved with the BCNU to make a difference.
Marie will be missed for her joi de vivre and her caring and generous spirit. She had a love for golf and fine wine, and Saturday trips with the girls to the “boutiques” where she loved to search for bargains.
She enjoyed retirement to the fullest in both Penticton and Boynton Beach, Florida, with time spent by the pool or on the golf course, or pulling those “damn weeds” in her garden.
She is survived by Rod, her husband of 58 years, daughter Stephanie (Marten) of Ottawa, son James and grandchildren Tristan and Haley of Port Coquitlam, brother Ron (Marilyn) of Hudson Quebec, nieces Laurie and Erin (Grahame) and
their children Jasmine and Zoe.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 2pm, at the St Andrews by the Lake Golf Course clubhouse. All are welcome. A memorial service and interment of ashes will be held this fall in Hudson, Quebec.
