It is with saddened hearts that the family of Lenova Sampson 87, of River Bourgeois, announce the peaceful passing of their beloved mother, Monday, July 11, 2022, at St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish. Born April 22, 1935, in River Bourgeois, N.S. The daughter of the late Joseph Boucher (River Bourgeois) and Louisa (Larocque) Boucher (Caraquet N.B.)
Other than a few short years in her late teens, when she left the River to work in New Glasgow, Lenova spent her entire life in River Bourgeois devoted to her husband of 67 years, Bernard Pious Sampson, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her community. She will be remembered in the community for her many hours spent at the local Bingo Halls and the Bowling Alley, and her steadfast belief in God.Lenova will be deeply missed by her husband, Bernard Sampson, her six children, Ivan Sampson (Irene), Ont, Doris Brown (John), River Bourgeois, Sandra Hibbs (Howard), Halifax, Darlene Ferguson (Don), River Bourgeois, Jackie Sampson, River Bourgeois, Leon Sampson (Wendy), Louisdale, her 5 brothers, Phil Boucher (Barb), Ont. Camille Boucher (Gerri), Ont, Aurel Boucher (Iris), B.C., Charlie Boucher (Helen), Ont, Bernard Boucher (Doug), L’Adroise, 10 Grand Children, 14 Great Grand Children and her many nieces and nephews. Lenova was predeceased by her beloved sister Jeanette Kyte (Charlie).
Lenova loved to be surrounded by her family & friends, she will be dearly missed by all.
A special thank you from the family to Michelle Bona, who never left our side during the last days and to everyone on her CCA team for taking such good care of her over the past months and to the GARU and Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Hospital, for making her last moments so very peaceful.
A celebration of Lenova’s life will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in River Bourgeois on August 19, 2022 at 11 am, followed by a gathering at the Tara Lynne Community Centre.
