Marianne “Mare” Louise Hartnett passed away peacefully on Thursday September 1st, 2022 in Nelson, British Columbia. She was one of four children born to Richard and Marilyn Powers in Brantford, Ontario.
Mare was a registered nurse for over 40 years, practicing in three provinces. Her passion for her profession was clear to any colleague or patient she encountered.
Mare’s love for nursing was only surpassed by her love for her family. She is survived by her son, Gregory smith; her daughters, Abigail Roy (Michael), Laura Hartnett (David); and her precious grandchildren, Bo and Leo Roy. She will be missed by Michael Hartnett and siblings Richard Powers, Elaine Pinkus (Marc) and Patrick Powers (Anne).
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers as Mare was an advocate and strong believer in death with dignity.
