Margaret Rose “Marg”
Mitchell – 82, Truro. It is with
a heavy heart we announce that Margaret Rose “Marg” Mitchell
passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Colchester East
Hants Health Centre, Truro.
She was the wife of Ronald Frank “Ron” Mitchell,
sharing over 62 loving years together. Margaret lived life to the
fullest and on her own terms. She touched the lives of so
many, leaving behind fond memories of this courageous and funny woman.
She cherished the roles bestowed upon her life of daughter, wife,
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and
friend.
She was affiliated with St. David’s United Church
in Bible Hill. She worked as a clerk with the Federal Government,
where she would take off the summers to spend with her four children,
sharing her love of the water and teaching them all to swim. She
earned the name of “Action Nanny” with a carefree spirit,
seizing every opportunity to play with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. An avid sewer, she loved to sew quilts for all of
them.
One of her greatest joys was the many adventures that she
took with Ron, the love of her life, travelling extensively together
and often with family members. She would write about their travels and
often wrote poetry and short stories. Many will remember times spent
around the table playing cards with her or watching the Blue Jays
play. She loved the piano, either playing herself or
listening to others.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Steven (Lynn)
Mitchell, Ottawa; Vernon (Michele) Mitchell, Stewiacke; Vincent
(Andrea) Mitchell, Lantz; Pamela (Shane) Sullivan, Bible Hill;
grandchildren, Andrew Sutherland (Courtney), Gregory Sullivan
(Denise), Jessica Sullivan (Matthew), Christopher Mitchell (Emily),
Stephen MacDonald, Brennan Sullivan (Tenysha), Garrett (Sherry)
Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Devin Mitchell (Victoria),
Dakota Mitchell, Jessica Bedford; great grandchildren, Makayla
Sullivan, Dominic MacDonald, Madison Sullivan, Jade MacDonald, Jaxon
Mitchell; siblings, Doris Leblanc, Louise (Gerald) MacKenzie;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Dean; several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Blanche (Kennedy) Frizzell;
siblings, Warren, Frank, Bessie, Audrey, David.
