Margaret Elizabeth White, 84
Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our most precious mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Margaret Elizabeth White. Margaret passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Northside General Hospital. Margaret was born in Sydney Mines on April 28, 1938. She was the beloved daughter of the late Survine and Irene (Bennison) MacMullin.
Margaret was happiest enjoying the little things in life, such as spending time with her family at the cabin in Ross Ferry. She loved to watch hockey and baseball and was a true Blue Jays fan. She loved getting dressed up and spending her evenings at the pensioners playing bingo or at the casino with her best friend and sister-in-law Joan Gracie. Mom always loved to be on the go somewhere. She was a proud member of Holy Family Parish in Sydney Mines.
Ma was the glue that held our family together. She meant the world to us and was loved dearly by all her family. What she meant to us, we could not possibly put into words. She and our father provided a loving home for all of us. We could always count on our Mother to be there for us. Always a home-cooked meal, and she was a wonderful baker too. She made the best pancakes for all of us. Our parents provided a home like no other. When you went home and shut the door you knew you were safe.
Margaret is survived by her loving children; her sons, Greg (Dianna), and Sheldon (Michelle), daughters, Jennifer (Freddie Anderson), and Nicole (Alex Predo). She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Pauline and Raylene, brother Kevin (Elizabeth), grandchildren Megan, Ashley, Travis, Amanda, Georgia, Mitchell, Matthew, Michael, and Ryan, as well as many nieces and nephews and nine great-grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband George, daughter Irene, sons Curtis and Gary, and her son in infancy, brothers Jackie, Greg, Eric, and Sister Eileen as well as her special friend Alfie Gouthro.
A huge thank you to the nurses and staff on 2 West of the Northside General and Dr. Ignatio. She truly appreciated every single one of you for taking good care of her.
Visitation for Margaret will be Saturday, December 31, 2022, from 10 – 10:45 am in J.M Jobes Funeral Home in Sydney Mines. followed by a Mass at Holy Family Parish Hall in Sydney Mines, at 11 am.
