Loving Nana to Kelsey, Lauren, and Brie; great-grandmother to Oliver (Lauren and Morgan’s son). Predeceased by her sister Charlotte Wilson. She had many wonderful years with her husband Glenn who died in 2018.
As a youth in Toronto Margie became a Canadian champion swimmer for several years. While in high school she earned her degree as an Associate of the Toronto Conservatory of Music (ATCM) in piano. At Kiwanis Music Festival, she won a Neilson’s scholarship, and soon after they delivered a huge box of chocolates. Margie graduated in Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto; she enjoyed teaching and coaching at Acadia, McGill, and Ryerson Universities. At Acadia one of her teams was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame.
Margie and Glenn were married in Toronto in 1956. She had many busy years raising their children, helping Glenn with his business, skiing at Osler Bluff, and cottaging with family and friends at Logan Lake, our special place!
Moving to Calgary in 1980 Margie loved their new home with a view of the mountains. She enjoyed skiing and hiking. Margie participated in the opening of the Centre of the Performing Arts. She taught a course called “Investing for Women”. She looked forward to bridge with her friends each week.
Margie is survived by her family and friends. She was a beautiful person who will be missed more than words can say.
