Margaret Drucilla (Howells) Wilkins
1922-2022
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Drucilla
(Howells) Wilkins, wife of the late Lloyd Earl Wilkins, on August 29,
2022 at Thomas Hall, Shannex, Fredericton, NB. Margaret was born in
Burtts Corner, NB, on December 18, 1922 and was the daughter of the
late Leona (Burtt) and David Howells. Margaret was three and half
months shy of her 100th birthday.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sylvia (Rodger)
Anderson, Susan (Gary) West, Sandra (Colin) Fletcher and her son, Gary
(Brenda) Wilkins. Margaret is also survived by one granddaughter,
Karen Anderson Miller (Rockland) and ten grandsons, Paul Dunn
(Stephane) David Dunn (Lisa) Michael Anderson (Wanda) Rick Weaver
(Marise), Andy Weaver (Marcia), and the West boys, Leith (Karla) Chris
(Lindsey), Garrett (Sarah), Anthony (Laura) and Blake (Hannah).
Margaret is survived by 23 great grandchildren and one great great
grandchild, Eleanor Miller.
In addition to her parents and her husband Lloyd, she is predeceased
by her son, Dick Dunn, her daughter, Pam Weaver and son-in-law Ron
Weaver. She was also predeceased by her brother Clarence and her
sister Ruby.
Margaret was a hairdresser in her early years but realized raising a
family of six children was her real passion. Mom could often be found
with a set of knitting needles, tatting shuttle, or working tirelessly
at the sewing machine. She was a beautiful cook and wonderful home
maker.
Margaret lived a long and independent life until this past year. She
was truly a remarkable woman and was admired for her independence and
stamina. She never took anything for granted and her motto was
“always keep moving, once you give in, you’re done.”
She kept moving until the end.
Margaret’s family would like to extend their sincere
appreciation for the excellent care she received at Thomas Hall,
Shannex, during these past few months. You were all so good to Mom and
she loved you all.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022 and at
the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, near 913 Route 104, Burtts
Corner, NB at 2 pm where she will be laid to rest beside her husband,
Lloyd, and her mother, grandparents, great grandparents and great
great grandparents. Margaret will be laid to rest with her fur baby

baby.” A reception will follow the service at Victoria Hall,
