Maire Moya Murphy Thursday October 13th 2022

Murphy, Maire (Moya) –
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maire (Moya) Murphy (nee Wickham) in her 75th year on October 13, 2022. Moya was born in Ireland before immigrating to Canada in 1971. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax with a BA in Economics being awarded the Governor General’s Medal for Academic Excellence. She was a long term employee of Air Canada primarily at Pearson International Airport.
Moya was born the eldest child to Terrance Wickham and Catherine (Kathleen) McLoskey. She was the beloved wife of Dermot for over 50 years and devoted mother to Kat (Fraser), Philip (Marlow), and Connor.
Moya was the much loved grandmother to Wickham, Queelin, Delsin, Troy, Daniel, and Mollie Kathleen. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Anne (Brian), Kevin, Terry (Louise), Claire, and David (Margaret) along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends in Nova Scotia and Ontario.
At Moya’s request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to acknowledge the caring staff at Columbia Forest LTC who cared for Moya in her final weeks and the staff at Emma’s Village, Riverside Glen who lovingly looked after her needs for almost four years. As an expression of sympathy, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Waterloo-Wellington or charity of your choice. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online following the link below.
