Obituary of Mae Huard
Mae Helen “Maisie” Huard (nee Gallson), passed away peacefully at the Algonquin Nursing Home in Mattawa, Ontario, in the early morning hours of March 22, 2022. She was 82 years old.
As per Maisie’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. A private family service will be held at a future date, and burial will take place at Pinehill Union Cemetery.
Maisie will be lovingly remembered by her sons Claude (Helen) of Garson, Daniel (Marlyn) of Las Vegas, and Ray of Mattawa, as well as her daughter Bonnie of Sudbury. She is survived by her sisters Betty Chenier and Barbara Turcotte and her brother Jackie Gallson. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jessica (John) of Lively, Madison of Garson, and Owen and Benjamin, both of Sudbury, and her great grandchildren Luke and Colin of Lively, and her many nieces and nephews. They will remember how her face lit up when they visited with her.
Maisie is preceded in death by her husband Philip Huard, her parents John Gallson and Mary Morrison, and her siblings Philip Gallson, Donald Gallson, Jimmy Gallson, Jean Curry, Joan Smith, and Hilda Howard.
Maisie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She touched many hearts through her lifetime. She enjoyed her family and friends immensely. She loved the challenge of a board game or card game, especially with the grandchildren. She would happily spend days working in her vegetable and flower gardens, or just enjoy being outside by the lake.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Algonquin Nursing Home. Their exemplary care of Maisie was evident, and their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
