While on a group car drive in Tennessee, enjoying what she loved: roaming the world with her hubby by her side, Madge (Majella) Sharpe (nee Belliveau) passed suddenly yet peacefully in a tragic car accident on May 21, 2022, at 78 years young.
This beautiful soul enjoyed travelling (to over 60 countries), cooking, painting, reading and gardening. An amazing mother who was delighted to recently become Mémère (grandmother) to her now 9-month old granddaughter, Avalon. Loved being a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-Law and Aunt. Majella was born in Memramcook, NB; and lived in Nfld. for over four decades. A proud bi-lingual Acadian, daughter of the late Joseph and Maimee Belliveau.
Predeceased by her brother Michel Belliveau. Leaving to mourn, husband Stephen, St. Philip’s/St. John’s; children: Chad St. John’s, Donica (Alexander Lang), Calgary AB, Tony, Mississauga ON and Mike, Chetwynd BC; grandchildren: Emma, Michael, James and Avalon; siblings: Edith (Jean-Guy Leger), Geraldine Belliveau-LeBlanc (Clovis deceased), Guy (Dorine Belliveau), Ginette (Bob Boudreau) all of Memramcook, NB; sisters-in-law: Marie (Michel deceased) Toronto, ON, Della (Harry Martin) Hamilton ON, Viola Squires (Mac Somerton), Shirley (Errol Sharpe deceased), Hilda (Robert Squires deceased), brother-in-law Steve Tucker friend Theresa (Barbara deceased), along with many other relatives and friends.
Majella was a retired flight attendant supervisor with Eastern Provincial Airways, which then came under the wings of Canadian Pacific (followed by Air Canada) as a ticket agent. Majella has her own wings now. Member of St. Philip’s Anglican Parish, Art Association NL, Realist Artists NL, the Air Canada Pionairs Retirees Association, Sports Car Tours Club, Board Member and Secretary for “The Church by the Sea” Heritage Group, and former Kinette.
Madge will live in the hearts of all that knew and loved her and will be missed forever. Repose en paix, Majella.
