With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Madeline White (nee Perry), who passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, August 6th, aged 79 years.
Predeceased by her loving husband Leo, parents James and Violet, sister Lucy, brothers-in-law Cyril, Harry, Richard and nephews Gerard and Kalvin.
Leaving to mourn are her three loving children, Dan (Yvonne), Perry (Lynette), and Leona (Tommy). Left with treasured memories are her grandchildren, Dana (Daniel), Taylor, Ariana, and her precious great grandson, Leo. Madeline leaves behind her brothers Cyril, Don (Madonna), Allan (Verna), Jimmy (Linda), Loyola (Bonnie), and her sisters, Bride (Don), Geraldine, Idella (Reg), Gladys (Wayne), Diane (Gord), Martina (Keith), Zina and sister-in-law Linda (Derm). Madeline will be dearly missed by a large group of extended family and many friends in Biscay Bay and Portugal Cove South.
Madeline’s family would like to express a deep gratitude for the wonderful care she received from the doctors and nurses of 6 East, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
Mom had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson, who were the true lights of her life. She was a lover of all animals and took great pride in the different birds that would visit her feeder. Madeline enjoyed many pastimes, which included but were not limited to, knitting; always a dishcloth or a pair of wooly socks to gift, playing cards; especially with her old friends from Shoe Cove Road, putting together puzzles; particularly of wildlife or scenery, and always enjoyed getting out to a concert to delight in an evening of music. Her contagious smile, caring demeanor, and kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish, Trepassey, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11 A.M. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Portugal Cove South.
