MACKINNON, Archie Alexander
1948 – 2022
It is with great sorrow that the family of Archie Alexander MacKinnon, announces his passing on March 31st, 2022 at the age of 73. Archie is predeceased by his parents Dan and Mora and his brother-in-law Ken Nelson. He is survived by loving wife Wendy (nee Crouch), his daughter Heather (Jason) Gignac. Archie is also survived by his sister Sadie Nelson, brother-in-law David Crouch; his nephews Barry (Tina) Nelson and Dan (Evangeline) Nelson and by his great nephews and nieces Drew, Kurt, Jessica, Sadie and many great-great nieces and nephews. Although he leaves his family behind, his love remains with them and all those Archie knew. His spirit of love and of strength to overcome anything will be kept alive in their hearts and fondly remembered.
Archie was fortunate enough to receive a double lung transplant, allowing him to enjoy the precious of gift of life and also be there for his family. Please consider becoming an organ donor and offer that precious gift to someone, it’s easy to do, visit beadonor.ca.
The family wishes to offer a special thank you to the Transplant team in Toronto that offered him a second breath of life and most recently to Dr. McPherson and the team at the Blanche River Health – Kirkland Lake Site, as well as the Victorian Order of Nurses, Northeastern LHIN and Closing the Gap.
Archie’s family also wishes to thank all the family and friends for your show of support during this difficult time.
At Archie’s request cremation has taken place and he will be privately inurned at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
