Lucien’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucien Maurice Cloutier on Thursday August 25 2022, at the age of 75. Lucien was a long-time resident of Donnelly; AB. Lucien was born August 16 1947 at McLennan to Louis-Donat and Eugénie Cloutier. Lucien was the youngest of 12 children.
Later in life Lucien would start his farming career with the help of his older brother Victor and his parents continuing the farming legacy started many generations ago. Lucien and Victor’s farming partnership continued until 1998. After 1998, Lucien and Victor went their separated ways. Both brothers formed their own farming enterprises with their families. Lucien built a successful farming enterprise L & J Farms with his wife Jocelyne and their two sons Francis and Daniel. Today, Lucien’s farming legacy will continue to thrive through his wife, sons (Cloutier Brothers), daughter-in-laws, and their grand-daughters.
Lucien will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grand-father, and friend. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and laughter.
Lucien enjoyed time spent with his family. Lucien devoted many summer days at Shaw’s Point Resort where his brothers and sisters would often visit. Often, card games, boards games, horse shoes games were played and laughter shared.
One of Lucien’s passions was the great outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, Lucien spent many hours fishing and hunting with his wife, sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings. Lucien shared his trade secrets with his sons and granddaughters which they hold dear to this day. Lucien was happy to be a hunting guide to family members and friends who took the time to visit during hunting season. Lucien enjoyed fishing excursions in the Northwest Alberta as well as in Mexico.
Lucien was predeceased by his father Louis-Donat Cloutier, his mother Eugénie (Labelle), brothers Lucien (toddler), Arthur (baby), brother Armand and sister-in-law Émilienne (Garant), brother Maurice and sister-in-law Colombe (Bouchard), brother Lévis & sister-in-law Régine (Filion), brothers Jean-Guy, Pierre, and Victor, brother-in-law Hans Coppens, and sisters Madeleine (Soeur Sainte-Croix) and Sylvianne (Morgan).
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Jocelyne (Bolduc), sons Francis and Karen (Wordsworth), Daniel and Patsy (Dubé), and 4 grandchildren: Chloé, Dani, Eva, and Daphnie.
He is also survived by his brother Paul-André and wife Raymonde (Labelle), his sister Hélène Coppens and sisters-in-law Liliane (Bolduc), Antoinette (Lafleur), Jacqueline (Rouleau), brother-in-law Don Morgan, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who were all very special to him.
Prayers will be held Friday, September 16th 2022 from Chapel of Memories Funeral home, Peace River at 7:30 pm.
Funeral services for the late Lucien Cloutier will be held Saturday, September 17th 2022 at Paroisse du Sacré-Coeur church in Donnelly at 11:00 pm.
Interment to followed at the Paroisse Sacré-Coeur – Donnelly cemetery.
