Lourdes Casey 2022

Lourdes Ellen (Nolais) Casey, of Miramichi, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 77.
Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Crumley and Mabel (O’Brien) Nolais. She was a retired teacher from Nelson Rural and a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of M.A.R.T.A.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Gerald Casey; son William “Bill” (Marianne) of Ottawa, ON; daughter-in law Charline Casey of Miramichi; three sisters Judy Pyne (Edward) of Miramichi, Paula McLaughlin (Mike) of Renous, and Cathy O’Brien of Miramichi; five grandchildren Lila, Bridget, Tyler, Kyle, and Ainsley; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Peter Casey; and sister Ann McBriarty.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11 am, at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Peter Aloo officiating. The Retired Teachers are asked to please meet at the church, at 10:30 am, to form an honour guard.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
