In loving memory of Louise Zandstra
June 12, 1941 – February 28, 2022
Louise passed away peacefully at Hyland Crest Long-term Care in Minden. Predeceased less than three months before by her devoted husband of 59 years, Rudy. Louise leaves her grandson Ethan, daughter-in-law Andrea, dear friend Roland, brother Simon, of Holland, and cousins in western Ontario. Louise was also predeceased by her beloved son Michael in 2019.
Louise and Rudy came to Canada from Holland in the late 1960s, living near Brantford, close to her aunt’s family, before moving to Kinmount in 1973. Louise was widely recognized in the community for her skill in making draperies and upholstering furniture, as well as her talent for decorating. She was a devoted member and past president of the Kinmount Pioneer Society, looking forward every year to participating in the annual Kinmount Fair. But the roles that gave her the greatest joy were those of mom and grandma.
A joint celebration of Louise and Rudy’s lives will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to the Kinmount District Health Services Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427 Minden, Ontario, K0M 2K0.
