Louise Hall résidente de Farnham, âgée de 97 ans, est décédée paisiblement dans son sommeil à la Résidence CRP de Cowansville, le 10 février 2022. Tout au long de sa vie, Louise a été une éducatrice qui tenait toujours ses élèves à cœur – enseignante, directrice, enseignante invitée avec le département d’éducation protestante, et une spécialiste avec le ministère de l’éducation en sciences de l’éducation.
La deuxième vocation de Louise était le bénévolat. Elle était particulièrement dévouée à l’hôpital BMP ou elle était bénévole pendant plus de 70 ans! Elle était également co-fondatrice de la bibliothèque de Farnham il y a plus de 60 ans. En 2018, la bibliothèque a été renommée en son honneur : Bibliothèque municipale Louise-Hall.
Louise a reçu d’innombrables prix pour ses contributions et son excellence dans le domaine de l’éducation ainsi que pour son bénévolat.
La natation, le tennis, le badminton et le golf sont des sports dans lesquels Louise excellait. Elle a transmis son amour de ces sports à ses élèves (et à sa famille). Louise était entraîneur et organisatrice pour de nombreux sports extrascolaires, incluant le golf, le bowling, le hockey et l’athlétisme.
Une autre des passions de Louise était le jardinage. Son jardin a toujours été une source de fierté personnelle, remportant de nombreuses distinctions pour ses fleurs et ses légumes, notamment ses citrouilles.
La plus grande fierté de Louise a toujours été la famille. Elle laisse dans le deuil sa chère sœur Adelaide Lanktree, son neveu John (Theresa), sa petite-nièce Esmé (Michael), son petit-neveu Michael (Maram) et son arrière-petite-nièce, Lily. Louise et Adelaide ont partagé leur maison à Farnham pendant de nombreuses années, accueillant régulièrement des anciens élèves, des amis et la famille dans leur havre de paix dans les Cantons de l’Est.
Un merci spécial à tous les médecins, les infirmières et l’excellent personnel de BMP, de l’équipe de soins palliatifs à domicile du RLS de la Pommeraie et, plus récemment, la Résidence Cowansville CRP.

Les funérailles, sous la présidence du Rév. David Lefneski, auront lieu le samedi 26 février à 14h en l’église Unie Emmanuel de Cowansville. Samedi, journée des funérailles, vous êtes invités à vous rendre directement à l’église pour 13h.

Louise Hall, resident of Farnham, aged 97, died peacefully in her sleep at the Residence CRP in Cowansville on February 10, 2022. Throughout her life Louise was a devoted and inspirational educator – teacher, principal, visiting teacher with the Department of Protestant Education, and lastly, specialist in Educational Sciences with the Ministère de l’éducation.
Louise’s second calling was that of volunteering. She was deeply dedicated to BMP hospital where she volunteered for over 70 years! She also co-founded the Farnham Library over 60 years ago and in 2018 was honoured when it was officially named Bibliothèque municipale Louise-Hall.
Louise received countless awards for her contributions and excellence in the field of education as well as for her volunteering.
Swimming, tennis, badminton, and golf were sports at which Louise excelled. She imparted her love of many sports to her students (and family). The extra-curricular sports she organized and coached included golf, bowling, hockey, and track and field.
Yet another of Louise’s passions was gardening. Her garden was always a point of personal pride, winning numerous accolades for both flowers and vegetables, especially pumpkins.
Louise’s greatest love was always her family. Survived by her cherished sister Adelaide Lanktree, her nephew John (Theresa), great-niece Esmé (Michael), great-nephew Michael (Maram), and great-grandniece, Lily.
Louise and Adelaide shared their home in Farnham for many years, regularly welcoming former students, friends and family to their haven in the Eastern Townships.

The funeral service from Emmanuel United Church in Cowansville will be on Saturday, February 26th at 2pm, Rev. David Lefneski. officiating.
Saturday, day of service, guests are invited to go directly to the church for 1pm.
