In Celebration of
Louis George
February 21, 1935 –
October 26, 2022
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our family patriarch Louis George with the love of his life by his side on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Together with his beloved wife of 65 years, Litsa, they raised three sons, Jim, Tom and Alex (Tiffany). He was a doting grandfather, best known as Gee to Chris, Amanda, Alyssa and Alexander and an amazing great grandfather to Axel. He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Vaso (George Anastos), Eleni (Stergios Adam). He is pre-deceased by his father, Alexander and his mother, Anastasia. He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives, friends and grand-dog Jax.
Louis was born in the village of Skopia-Florina, Greece in 1935 and arrived in Canada in 1947. He will be remembered for his love of spending time with his family, his kind heart, and his witty one-liners. His love of cooking led him to become a well-known restaurateur in the Hamilton/Burlington area from the 1950’s onward. Louis was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite and a member of The Brant Lodge No 663 for 63 years. Words cannot describe the generosity and love that he bestowed upon his family and those dear to him. He was the heart and soul of our family and will live on through the cherished memories we have of him.
Visitation will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road E, Hamilton on Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22 Head Street, Hamilton on Wednesday November 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
