Lorraine Léger
1928-2022
Lorraine Léger, 93, passed away after a brief stay at Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on May 11th, 2022. Born in Saint-Paul, she
is the daughter of the late Joseph Cormier and Pauline (Polonie)
Richard. Prior to the last six months, she spent eight years at the
Résidence Au Bénaise in Saint-Antoine.
Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her children, Yvonne
(Eugère) Cormier of Saint-Antoine; Linda (Denis) Belliveau of
Victoria; Noëlla (late Raymond) Cormier of Sainte-Marie; Shirley
(Peter) Nowlan of Bouctouche; Valencia (Randy) Léger of Ottawa;
Robert (Rosanne) Léger of Medicine Hat; Jean-Noël (Natalie)
Léger of Bouctouche and Monique (Stephen) Léger of
Montréal; one daughter-in-law, Peggy (late René) of
Saint-Paul as well as fifteen grand-children; Denise, Christopher,
Stéphane, Réjean, Valencia, Jason, Jonathan, Daniel, Julian,
Marie-Ève, Olivia, Gabriel, Raphaël, Maxime, Samuel and
seven great-grand-children; Sébastien, Saria, Levi, Katelyn,
Madison, Easton, Leah.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Léger (2016), two
children, René (2012) and Joanne (1968), her sister, Dorice
Léger (2009), her brother, Honoré Cormier (1987), five
half-brothers; Alex, Raymond, René, Dollard, Hector and four
half-sisters; Valentine, Anna, Lorette, Marguerite.
Lorraine was an incredibly resilient woman who raised her family with
much love. She enjoyed gardening in the summer; going fishing or to
the weekly music hall with her husband Edgar; feeding every person who
walked through the door; playing cards and bingo and visiting friends
and family. Most of all, she was a huge fan of the Montreal
Canadians.
Visitation will be at Saint-Paul Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room,
Saint-Paul-de-Kent on Friday June 10, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:30
to 6:45 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Paul
Church, on Friday June 10, 2022 at 7:00 pm with interment in the
parish cemetery.
In Lorraine’s memory, donations can be made to the Saint-Paul
Parish Cemetery Fund.
