Lorne Bursaw
It is with deep sadness the family of Lorne Bursaw announce his passing on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the age of 82.
Lorne was born in Milden, SK, on December 21, 1939 to Mervyn and Audrey Bursaw. He was raised on the family farm outside of Milden, SK. His early years he worked on the farm, at the Ford plant in Oshawa , ON and then landed in Saskatoon operating his own tow truck. He met his wife of 52 years Doreen, in Saskatoon , where they married and shortly after moved to their farm outside Milden, SK to raise their children.
Lorne will be missed by his wife Doreen; daughter Luan; son Sean; grandchildren Jessica (Joe), Kayla (Trent), Rylan (Karly), Garrett, Haley; great grandchildren Owen, Maxwell and Everett; sister Karen (Grant); brother Russell (Donna); sister Marlene (Bruce); sister-in-law Lorraine, sister-in-law Eunice (Vic), brother-in-law Clayton (Maxine), sister-in-law Bonnie (Richard), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents Mervyn & Audrey and his brother Murray.
He lived a large and full life, with a laugh that could fill any room. He had a story about every person he met and for every event. His family was his pride and joy and loved them all deeply. There was rarely an event of his grandchildren’s that he missed. He loved to tinker, fix a vehicle, go for coffee, hit up an auction, visit with anyone and everyone, play with the great grandchildren, go for a drive in the country and tell thousands of stories.
A Celebration of Lorne’s life along with lunch will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1pm at the Sutherland Hall in Saskatoon , SK. Lorne loved a great social event with coffee, food and lots of laughter. To honor him please come dressed casual or sport some Montreal Canadiens’ gear.

  1. I really enjoyed my conversations with Lorne. Over the years we were not able to see each other very often but I have fond memories of times spent with Lorne. My dad – Lewis Bursaw – thought highly of Lorne as did we all. Sending my sympathies to the family.

  3. We are thinking of you who were close to my cousin Lorne. You have lost a great guy to our enemy death. It was a privilege to have known Lorne, even though, for many years we have not seen much of each other. As kids, and later, as adults, whenever we met up, Lorne always made you feel special. He would immediately remind you of an event years ago. He remembered all the details, even down to the smallest detail. I wish we could have spent more time together over the years. It appears that he has a large family in the area, and I’m sure he loved you all very much. I think that Lorne learned to love and to laugh from his parents, especially Aunt Audrey, whom I knew better.
It is probably good to reflect respectfully on our own lives at times like this, and ask what am I doing for those around me that will be meaningful when I’m gone. It sounds as if Lorne planted a lot of seeds that will live on past his time. Take time to notice Lorne showing up in the days and years ahead, in the personalities touched by his.
Looking forward to meeting you again in the new world, Lorne!!

  4. Dear Doreen and family.
I am sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Because of covid and the numbers going up in Saskatoon, I was leery of attending yesterday. I am sorry.
    Take care.
    Love Dorothy Campbell (Neil) cousin
