Obituary of Lorne John Prentice
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the death of Lorne Prentice, of Clarington on October 21 at the age of 67 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 47 years, Kim; children: Tanya (Shawn), Tyler (Amanda) and Tera (John); grandchildren: Cassidy (Kevin), Jagger, Delaney, Trysta, Nevada, Brody, Maddox and Gage; great grandchildren: Scarlett and Bailey: his brother and sisters; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will also be dearly missed by his friends at City Homes and in the Construction Industry.
Lorne valued his family more than anything. He was a dedicated father and a fierce protector. He taught his kids and grandkids so many lessons in life.
Although he often came across as a grumpy old goat, most who knew him knew, that under that gruff exterior was a teddy bear with a heart of gold. Lorne was a hard worker and lead by example. He worked in the construction industry since he was very young and was a valued mentor and teacher of the trade. He is well respected in the industry and his knowledge and guidance will be missed by many.
At Lorne’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers please do an unexpected act of kindness in Lorne’s name.
