SHEELER, Lorne Bruce
(March 17th, 1942 – May 9th, 2022)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lorne Bruce Sheeler, 80, of Stoney Creek, Ontario on May 9th 2022. He was married to Maureen, the love of his life in Ottawa, Ontario on July 15th, 1972. He adored her and was proud of their family and the life they built together. They were just two months shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
He will be cherished forever by his children Sarah (Vince), Troy, Kevin (Amy), and grandchildren Patrick (Lisa), Jake, Hope, and Jack. He will also be deeply missed by his sister Karen and her husband Frank Gris. Lorne was predeceased by his parents Ben and Mary and brothers Ben and Wayne.
A “Stoney Creek-er” for life, Lorne worked at Union Drawn Steel for over 40 years. Beyond work, he was always up for a great adventure. The tales have grown over the years, but there are legendary stories including, trips to Europe and Mexico, fishing up North, and mastery of the five-pin bowling lanes. Above all, Lorne was known for his generous and giving heart. No one had an empty hand while in his presence, or left the house hungry. Nothing was more important to Lorne than his family. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren. He loved to know every detail of their lives and was always ready to bestow his wisdom upon them. Lorne was happiest when everyone was together. He also had a great love of baseball, and rarely did he miss a Blue Jays game. There may also have been a few lotto tickets purchased over the years, and maybe the odd visit to play the ponies. We will miss your laughter, your stories, and especially how you made each one of us feel special.
