Loretta’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Loretta Osmond (nee Lillington), announce her peaceful passing with her loving family by her side at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Loretta was the daughter of the late George and Florence Lillington (nee Francis). She was also predeceased by her sisters; Phyllis Keeping, Edna (David) Kendall, Carrie (Percy) Ramsay, and Lillian (Jim) Knavel.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving husband of 54 years; Hughie Osmond, her children; Hughie Jr. (June) Osmond of Yellowknife, NT, Treena Riles of Red Deer, AB and Phyllis (Tim) O’Brien of Fort McMurray, AB and her pride and joy; her grandchildren; Jillian Riles and Connor O’Brien. She also leaves behind her sister; Gertie Kean, brothers; George Lillington (Myrtle Greeley) and Gordon (Betty) Lillington, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques. In keeping with Loretta’s wishes, cremation will follow. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 11th, at 2 p.m. from the Faith Pentecostal Tabernacle, Grand Bay, officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Bessey. Interment will follow at the Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations in Loretta’s memory can be made to the family.
