Lois Johnson 2022

Lois Dianne Johnson, born in Mundare Alberta on September 30, 1942, died peacefully at home on September 16, 2022. She is survived by her sons Perry and Todd and grandchildren Julian and Sophia. Lois is predeceased by her husband Gordon of nearly 50 years and her grandson Dante.
Lois was raised in Edmonton in a Ukrainian family. She studied piano throughout her school years and achieved her ARCT in 1962 before graduating with a BSc (Pharmacy) from the U of A in 1963. She met the love of her life, Gordon, while studying pharmacy and they were married in 1964. They started their lives together in Calgary where they raised two sons. Lois became a full time piano teacher, and after their sons were raised she returned to her career in pharmacy where she became the pharmacist/manager in the Petro Canada tower in Calgary.
Lois and Gordon retired to Victoria in 1993 and enjoyed their remaining years traveling, gardening and renovating their old “turret” house. Their lives were enriched by the special friendships they developed at the Oak Bay United church, especially while volunteering twice a week at the Thrift Shop.
To her friends, Lois was charming and affable. To her family, she was deeply committed. She will be forever remembered and dearly missed. Donations in her memory may be made to the BC Parkinson Society at www.parkinson.bc.ca.
