In Loving Memory of LOIS KOSHEY January 24, 2022
Lois Jean Koshey (nee Gallamore) passed away at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC following a short battle with cancer. Lois was born on August 24, 1943 the last of the five children born to Bill and Jenny Gallamore.
Lois began her working career with Cominco (now Teck) where she worked for 34 ½ years. Working in the Benefits Department brought her in personal contact with many employees. She became very well known and made many lasting friendships.
Lois married Ken Koshey in June of 1973, and spent 48 years together raising sons Daryl and Kristopher and enjoying family life in Sunningdale. Lois was a fun-loving, funny, generous, caring person who could laugh at herself and always had a story. She enjoyed golfing, playing games, shopping, going to teas and having lunches with friends. Lois loved her time working with Hospice, but her hearing difficulties made it hard for her to continue. Her generousness extended to many organizations, whether it was food hampers for needy people, purchases of plants, cookies, or anyone raising money for anything, she gave freely. Hockey was a big part of the Koshey family. Lois was a loyal supporter of hockey in Trail following first her boys and then Ken as he coached for 47 years. She especially enjoyed going to Junior games sitting and visiting with fans.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Jenny Gallamore, sisters Jessie (Walters) and Anne (Thompson) and brother Les (Marlene) Gallamore.
Lois is survived by her husband Ken, son Daryl (Roberta) grandchildren; Karysa, Konner, and Bella, step-grandchildren; Paige and Dylan, of Powell River. She is also survived by son Kristopher (Nicole) of Lake Country, Kelowna, BC, grandchildren; Kali and Kylee, and step-grandchildren; Kendle, Morgan and Mason. Lois and Ken (Nana and Gramps) loved times they got to spend with their grandchildren. Survived also by sister Helen (Lloyd) McLellan of Rossland, BC, niece Robin and nephews; Peter and Geoff, in-laws Jack (Lorraine) Koshey of Dauphin, Manitoba, Brian (Tanya) Koshey of Trail, BC, niece Stephanie, and nephew Steven. Survived also by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the Trail Regional Hospital for the care they provided Lois throughout her short illness.
As per her wish, there will not be a service. Rest in peace Lois. You will always live in our hearts. The family will gather at a later date to remember and celebrate Lois’ life.
