Peacefully entered into rest at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton on Saturday, August 27, 2022, Lois Lyle (nee Hammond) of Picton, died at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Clifford & Margaret Hammond (nee Dezell) and was the loving wife of the late Rev. Allan Lyle. Lois was the cherished mother of Mary Anne (Cameron Walker) of Consecon, Cathy (Michael McCue) of Kingston, the late Helen (surviving Tom McRae) all of Kingston. She was the dearest grandmother of Colene & Stuart. Lois is survived by her sister Cora Voteary of Kingston and predeceased by her 1 brother and 3 sisters and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Lois at MLP Residence and to Amber and all of the health care team members. We were grateful for Mom to be able to spend her final days at Hospice Prince Edward in a quiet, peaceful environment.
Mrs. Lyle rested at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613-476-2450). A Memorial Service will be held in the Prince Edward Free Methodist Church, 384 Main Street, Picton on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 2 pm with visitation at the Church starting at 12 noon. Private Family Inurnment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Smiths Falls at a later date. If desired, donations to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation “Back the Build” or Hospice Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family.
