Lloyd Gillies 19362022

Lloyd Gillies
1936-2022
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Lloyd
Gillies, 86, of Portage Vale. Born in Petitcodiac, he was a son to the
late Errol and Tina Henry.
Lloyd and Joan made their home and spent their lives in
Portage Vale for the past 57 years. Dairy farming was his passion and
it showed in the way he kept his farmland groomed and pristine, even
into his retirement and later years. He was a well respected man in
the community and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was
always there to lend a helping hand to a neighbour and friend in need.
Lloyd loved his family and was proud of each one of them. He will be
deeply missed by all.
Lloyd is survived and sadly missed by his wife, Joan Gillies;
his sons, Brent (Lisa) Gillies and Steven (Debby Jackson) Gillies; his
brothers: Les, Rae (Carole) and Donnie Gillies; his grandchildren:
Tara, Chelsie, Kyle and Riley; his great grandchildren: Brooklyn,
Axel, Jerri as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, Roy
Gillies and sister in law, Carolyn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home, (372-4800) from where visitation will be held on
Thursday, October 13 from 7-9pm with a service being held the
following day, October 14 from Salisbury Funeral Home at 10:30am with
Rev. Brian McArthur officiating. Interment will follow in Portage Vale
Cemetery.
If desired, donations may be made to the IWK, SPCA or to a
