Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Lloyd George Bond, which occurred on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Kars, N.B., he was a son of the late Arthur and Fern (Robertson) Bond.
Lloyd was an active member at Bethany Pentecostal Church and Waypoint Church – formerly Kings Way Assembly – which led him to help forming Kings Way Care Centre, where he became a board member. He worked very hard in his studies, obtaining his B.T., B. Ed, and finally his M. Ed. He enjoyed a long career as an Industrial Arts teacher at Beaconsfield and Barnhill schools, where he was a favourite among students. He was also involved for many years in Hampton Minor Hockey. Upon his retirement from teaching, Lloyd continued working as a builder/carpenter for many years and enjoyed spending time with his treasured grandchildren.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, of 61 years, Marilyn; sons Brian (Vitina) and Brent (Janet); brother Dwight (Janet); sisters Della Cole (Harold), Mildred Miller (Wesley), Donna Nutter (Murray), Cheryl Stewart (James), and Zonya Russell (Bradley); grandchildren Isaiah, Madison, and Logan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his brothers Gordon, Don, Stewart, and Daryl.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Waypoint Church, formerly Kings Way Assembly, on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, donations in Lloyd’s memory may be made to Waypoint Church, The Kings Way Life Care Alliance Foundation, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
