Obituary of Linda Mayo
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious mother, Linda Dianne Mayo of New Glasgow formerly of Westville on April 8, 2022 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow at the age of 73.
Born in New Glasgow November 23, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Clifford (Mort) and Sarah (DesRoches) Morrison.
Linda Worked as a legal and office administrator for many years. She was an avid reader who enjoyed word puzzles, plants, knitting as well as card games with her friends at Glen Haven Manor. Linda was a lifelong volunteer with numerous community organizations, including the Girl Guides, taught Sunday School, Scouting, Air Cadets, Salvation Army, Rebekah Lodge and was the proud President of the Residents Council at Glen Haven Manor, however her greatest joy came from her role as a very caring hands on Grandmother.
She is survived by her children Gerald, Halifax; Gina (Stephen) Bedford and Alvah, New Glasgow; grandsons Brandon and Tyler (Lydia), granddaughter Hannah; sister Georgina MacFarlane (Arnold); sister-in-law Norma Rae(Eldon); aunt Georgina (Joey) Johnston; numerous cousins; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Keith Gerald Mayo and daughter-in-law Tena Mayo.
Special heartfelt thanks go to her Glen Haven Manor family for their excellent care over the years, especially Darlene Izzard.
Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life service to follow at a later date this summer. In lieu of donations we ask that you perform an act of kindness in Linda’s memory.
