Linda Violet Sellars
1953-2022
After a courageous
battle with cancer, Linda Violet (Malin) Sellars passed away at the
Saint John Regional Hospital on May 25, 2022 surrounded by loved
ones.
Born in Montreal on September 21, 1953,
she is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Sellars of Pennfield;
their children Dianne Craswell (Joey & special granddaughter
Hayley) of L’Etang, Kevin Sellars and Laura Sellars (Erik &
Molly) both of Pennfield; brothers Alfred Malin, Eric Malin (Linda) of
British Columbia and Fred Malin (Claudette) of Quebec; as well as
in-laws + many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her parents Violet and Walter Malin and one brother Raymond
Malin.
After graduation, Linda pursued a
career as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal. While
on a camping trip out west with some friends, she met the love of her
life, John, who coincidentally was also on a similar trip with his
friends. Shortly after, Linda left her life in Montreal to
start her life in the country in southern New Brunswick. She
dedicated her life to raising their three children and being the
secretary for John’s carpentry business.
No day was complete without her tea, a tradition
that began as a child when she used to have tea
with her mother. She enjoyed
the simpler things in life such as reading a good romance book,
catching up on her doctor shows, camping in the woods, being patient
in the boat while John fished, exploring the great outdoors and
keeping company with her four-legged furry grandchild Autumn
(affectionately referred to as “nanny’s girl”).
She could often be found gazing out into the yard at her
numerous bird houses and trees to see which birds would visit each
year, her very favourite being the bluebirds. She was always
willing to dive into whatever craft idea her granddaughter Hayley came
up with and she would listen intently to any stories she told.
A hug/kiss from her would always bring a smile to her
face.
She remained strong through her
diagnosis, rarely complaining about what she had to endure.
A special thank you goes out to Sherri Hoyt and Ashley Vance
from Extramural for their assistance and advice during her time home
and to the staff in Palliative Care at SJR for being there to make her
as comfortable as possible during her final days. Thanks
also to Charlotte County Cancer for their generosity.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral
Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. As per
Linda’s wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be
held. In Linda`s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer
would be appreciated by the family.
