Linda Holden October 5 1940 June 3 2022

Obituary
Long term resident of Grimshaw, Linda Mae Holden passed away in Fairview on June 3, 2022 at the age of 81.
Linda (the second of three daughters, Marliss and Nancy was born at Flin Flon, Manitoba October 5, 1940 to Don and Mae Wright (nee Rutley). With Linda’s father being in the hardware business, they moved to Edmonton, Grande Prairie and ended up in Hay River, NWT in October 1949 to open the first hardware store in town, Don Wright Hardware.
In 1959 Linda married Denis Holden and she moved from Hay River, NWT to Clear Hills, AB to be with Denis where they farmed, raised cattle and started a family. In 1961, John was born followed by Marliss in 1963. They were gifted with five grandchildren Cameron Hunter, Brandon Hunter, Morgan Holden, Garrett Holden and Sean Holden.
Regrettably, in 2013 they left the family farm due to Denis’s numerous health conditions and moved to Spruce Villa in Grimshaw. Sadly, on May 18, 2018 she lost Denis.
Linda enjoyed curling, skiing, travelling, community, friends and most of all her grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, endless energy and willingness to try something new.
She was a warm loving wife, mother and grandmother.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta as expressions of sympathy.
