Lillian Mae Spinney
1933-2022
The passing of Lillian Mae (Goodeill) Spinney, wife of the
late William John Spinney, formerly of St. George NB occurred at the
Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on January 5, 2022. Born in Utopia
NB on February 22, 1933, she was a daughter of the late C. Austin and
Vivian (Hamilton) Goodeill. A loving sister, aunt and friend, Lillian
is survived by one sister: Frances (Blair) Thompson of Bayside NB; one
brother: Larry (Donna) Goodeill of Lepreau NB; chosen family: Laura
Lee (Jerome) Parker of Lord’s Cove NB; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was
predeceased by her sister: Alice Young.
Prior to retirement, Lil worked for NBTel as an operator and
later went on to work in the office at Connors Brothers in Blacks
Harbour and Scotiabank in St. George. A well known and active member
in the local community, she was the first to volunteer her help for
anyone who needed it. She loved gardening, knitting, quilting and had
many stories to tell about her travels with friends and family. In her
younger years, Lil could often be found at the camp in Utopia with her
husband and friends. No matter the task, Lil made sure she had fun
doing it and always had a smile on her face. She was a long time
member of the St. George Baptist Church and her love, humor and
devotion to her family and friends will be deeply
missed.
