Lillian Diane Dorey 1949-2022. It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Lillian Diane Dorey, age 73, on September 12th
2022 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Western Shore, she was a daughter of the late George and
Nettie ( Swinimer ) Zwicker.
She is survived by sons, George (Krista) Dorey, Kimber (Lisa) DeMont;
Her Pride and Joy Grandson, Nathan Dorey, with whom she shared an
incredible bond. Sisters, June (Harold) Zwicker, Linda (Garnet)
Rafuse; Brothers, Wayne (Sandra) Zwicker, Jake Zwicker, Ken (Lena)
Zwicker, Roy (Linda) Zwicker; Sister- in-laws, Jean Zwicker, Sandy
Zwicker, Patricia (James) Benoit, Paulette Barkhouse, Gladys (Jerry)
Parsons, Rosalie Dorey; Brother-in-law George Wilson. Many nieces and
nephews, along with their families, who she loved dearly. Honorary
Son and Daughter-in-law, Tony Smith and Bertha Barkhouse whom she
loved as if they were her own. She will also be dearly missed by many
close friends. Some who have become more like family over the
years.
She was predeceased by her parents; Loving Husband, Roy (2012);
Sister, Sally DeMont; Brothers, Donnie and Laurie Zwicker; Sisters-
in-law, Cathy and Nell Zwicker, Elizabeth Kane, Sally Wilson, Betty
Zwicker, Minerva Dorey, Stella and Joyce; Brothers-in-law, Bob
Zwicker, Leonard DeMont, Lewis Barkhouse, Sydney Dorey, James Dorey;
Nephew, Doug Zwicker; Nephew-in-law, Clyde Sawler.
The family would like to take this time to thank the Doctors and
Nurses at both South Shore Regional Hospital and Fisherman’s Memorial
Hospital, as well as EHS, for all their care, kindness and compassion
given. We would also like to thank Dr. Lori Jones, Tammy Collins,
Lunenburg County Home Support Girls, Family First Medical and Mahone
Funeral Home. Her sons would like to express their gratitude to
Sandra and Wayne, Jake, June, Linda, Tony and Bertha, Nathan and
Krista, for all they did to help mom out in times of need. Your
support has been appreciated and won’t be forgotten.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. If you so
choose, Memorial Donations may be made to the family or charity of
your choice.
There will be a Graveside Service, at which time, following their
wishes, Roy and Lillian’s ashes will be laid to rest together in one
Urn. This will take place on Thursday, September 29th 2022 at 1:00pm,
in Western Shore Cemetery, Western Shore. Rev. Ron Barkhouse
officiating. Pastor Rod Bezanson will be playing hymns on guitar.
Mom – Nan, We will think of you always, we will continue to speak your
name, You will never be forgotten, we will hold you close to our
hearts and there you will remain, until we meet again. We love you…
