Lancaster (nee Jessiman), Lilias Elizabeth Ross
Peacefully on Thursday May 5th, 2022 in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late William MacQueen and the late Gordon Lancaster. Loving mother of the late Beverley MacQueen (Louise) of Winchester. Cherished grandmother of Cristina MacQueen (Eric Ladouceur) of Winchester and great-grandmother of Danica and Kieran MacQueen-Ladouceur. Born November 29th, 1917 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Daughter of the late Alexander and Jane Ann Jessiman. Last of a family of six brothers and one sister: Alex, Cecil, Bill, Ken, Elson, Harold and Heather and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Scotland and New Zealand. Lil volunteered in many organisations including being a conveener for the Canadian Red Cross, past Chairperson of Blood Donors clinics, chairman of the WDMH gift shop, In Memoriam Fund of WDMH, lifetime member of the Hospital Auxiliaries of Ontario, Treasurer for the Canadian Cancer Society, delivery of Meals on Wheels, Council member and Trustee of the Winchester United Church. Lil was also a former Civil Servant in Ottawa for many years. She enjoyed many years with the senior choir, square dancing, travelling, and reading. In lieu of flowers donations to: Winchester District Memorial Hospital, Winchester United Church or Carefor Winchester. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday June 4th at the Winchester United Church, 519 Lawrence St. at 11 am.
