Obituary of Lidia Edda Favaro
Favaro, Lidia
We are broken hearted to announce the passing of our mother, Lidia Edda Favaro, at London Health Sciences Centre from respiratory failure. She was nearing her 89th birthday and was the longest living member of her family line – a milestone that she was so very proud of. Lidia is now reunited with our dad Giuseppe (Joe) who died in 2012. He madly fell in love with her after meeting her in a post office in Italy where she worked. He loved her passionately for the rest of his days. She is survived by her three children Manuela (Avis), Nando, and Isabella Cairess Favaro, and their spouses, Jim, Louise, and Sean. Lidia also had three grandchildren, William (partner Becky), Christopher (partner Hilary), and Julia, along with 3.5 great-grandchildren – Kennedy, Michael, Kaitlyn, and the soon-to-arrive baby Ford. Lidia was also blessed with three step-great-grandchildren – Elyse, Dean (wife Lisa ), and Greg. She leaves behind her dear younger sister, Valentina, in Treviso, Italy. Lidia will always be remembered for her personal charm, curiosity, and love. She was perennially cheerful and had an extraordinary fashion sense that paired mad splashes of color and patterns along with her signature red lipstick. She loved the nurses and caregivers at her residence Grand Wood Park and had a very special spot in her heart for Jordan Fox who kept her endlessly entertained and challenged with crafts and game – except bingo. Our deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at LHSC especially Dr. Alex, Dr. Gupta, Wendy, Brittany, Alex, Binnis, Sharon, and most especially Ande, along with the entire 5th floor respiratory team, nurses, and personal support worker, and the emergency trauma care team. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday September 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 11 AM at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 511 Cheapside Avenue in London. A reception will follow the service.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lidia
